Created in 1989, it takes its name from the small Sossò stream that flows at the foot of the hill where the grapes are grown. The result of a careful selection of Merlot and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes, with a small amount of Pignolo added, it is produced through meticulous vinification of grapes from historical vineyards in Rosazzo. This complex and structured wine is distinguished by its elegant, ripe, fruity and sweet tannins.

Created in 1989, this wine is named after the Sossò stream, which runs at the foot of the hill where the grapes grow. Made with carefully selected and oldest vines of Merlot and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes, together with a small percentage of Pignolo, Sossó is the result of skillful vinification of grapes from old vineyards in Rosazzo. A supremely complex and well-structured wine, it stands out for its elegant, ripe, sweet, fruity tannins. Mainly trained in the Guyot system, the vines benefit from marl and sandstone soils of Eocene origin. The healthy and perfectly ripe grapes are harvested by hand, in small crates, to preserve the integrity of the berry. Carefully destemmed, the fruit is then crushed. Fermentation is carried out with maceration on the skins at controlled temperatures in conical trunk vats. The wine matures in small barrels of French oak. The bottled wine is then aged in temperature-controlled binning cellars.
Deep and intense ruby red with purple hues. The nose is assured and captivating, broad and articulate: dried rose opens the profile, weaving through redcurrant, blackberry and blueberry before juniper and pine give way to the round, sweetish warmth of dark plum, releasing clove, black pepper and a lingering whisper of tobacco. On the palate, noble and velvety, with remarkable structure. Black cherry and black mulberry are sustained by bitter notes of dark chocolate, while candied orange and dried aromatic herbs heighten the tension. A delicate touch of resin and menthol marries the saline note, closing long, enveloping and seductive.
