The Merlot grape variety arrived in the region centuries ago and adapted perfectly, becoming a traditional variety in Friuli. The Merlot grape variety grown in the Friuli hills produces elegant, floral wines with balsamic and spicy notes.

Mainly trained in the Guyot system, the vines of our Merlot benefit from marl and sandstone soils of Eocene origin. The healthy and perfectly ripe grapes are harvested by hand, in small crates, to preserve the integrity of the berry. Carefully destemmed, the fruit is then crushed. Fermentation is carried out with maceration on the skins at controlled temperatures in stainless steel containers. The wine matures in stainless steel and small barrels of French oak. The bottled wine is then aged in temperature-controlled binning cellars.
Intense ruby red with violet hues. The nose is vibrant and elegant: redcurrant, blueberry and gooseberry blend with leather, blonde tobacco, wild mint and sage, while undergrowth, fern and pine weave through liquorice and white pepper, leaving a persistent trail of fresh and sweet spice. On the palate, fresh, enveloping and juicy, soft and refined on the attack, with elegant tannins and a pleasing sense of succulence. Pomegranate, sour cherry and blood orange lead into a long, persistent finish of fruit and spice.
