Vertigo

The essence of Vertigo, expressed by traditional varieties such as Merlot and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and international cultivars such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, represents the beauty of diversity in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Carefully destemmed, the fruit is then crushed. Fermentation is carried out with maceration on the skins at controlled temperatures in stainless steel containers. The wine matures in stainless steel and small barrels of French oak. The bottled wine is then aged in temperature-controlled binning cellars.

Tasting notes

Color:

Bright, clear ruby red.

Nose:

A generous, refined aroma with upfront notes of dog rose and red fruits, currants, raspberries and wild blackberries mingling with the citrus hints of blood orange and tangerine zest. A distinctive and clearly defined waft of yellow pepper peel completes the bouquet, closing harmoniously on spicy pink pepper intertwining with the sweetness of cinnamon, cloves and liquorice root.

Palate:

Thrusting and intuitive on the palate with refreshing waves of citrus, small wild berries and black cherries. Delightfully mouthfilling, close-knit tannic texture with top notes of dark spice, tobacco leaves and Criollo cocoa beans. A lingering finish, with a bitterish hint reminiscent of freshly toasted Arabica beans.

Food pairings:

Savoury first courses, roast pork and beef, meat dishes or moderately mature cheeses.
